This is a very collectible pattern book in Germany! Though small, it is packed with photos of "towel-type" samplers and patterns for the motifs they contain. Nine complete samplers are pictured in full color along with several other close-up photos of sampler details. The samplers date from 1717 to 1857 and most reside in the Volkskunde-Museum in Berlin. This book is a wonderful collection for both sampler lovers and collectors of authentic motifs.
