Mary Thomas's Dictionary of Embroidery Stitches ~ New Edition by Jan Eaton

This book was first published in 1934 and has been reprinted dozens of times since. It is regarded as a classic and has always proved popular with novice and experienced embroiderers alike. In this updated, full-color edition, over 400 stitches, some 100 of them new, are described in detail. For ease of reference, the stitches are grouped according to usage. Fourteen groups of stitches are included ranging from basic outline and border stitches to more complex detached filling stitches, composite canvas stitches and pulled fabric stitches.
