Kilim Designs in Needlepoint by Dorothy Wood
For centuries, the nomadic peoples of central Asia have woven brilliantly patterned kilims to make colorful rugs, covers, bags and accessories for their homes and their animals. Each ethnic group, village or even family has its own distinctive motifs and palette of colors, so there is an enormous range of decorative designs. The needlepoint designs in this collection are based on kilims from the three main areas of kilim production: Afghanistan, Anatolia (Turkey) and Persia (Iran).
