Early American Embroidery Designs by Mildred J. Davis

Early American Embroidery Designs, a beautifully illustrated, comprehensive book that covers the period just prior to 1700 and ending about 1825, closes a long-felt gap in the embroidery world. The embroidery designs selected as representing colonial years were chosen from apparel, household linens, bed hangings, curtains, screens and furniture coverings. They are illustrated in three broad sections: bed furnishings, apparel and accessories and pictorial needlework.
