Central Asian Embroideries from the DMC Library
This book begins with an absolutely fascinating look at the people of Central Asia and their culture as it relates to embroidery. The patterns that follow are more than simple decorations; in Central Asia they are distinctive class symbols. Included are 38 patterns that are shown both in graph form as well as photographed in stitched form. Each photograph is detailed with the materials used, the stitc(es) used and the procedure for working. Stitch diagrams are also included.
