The Art of Drawn Work by The Butterick Publishing Co.

Working with a woven fabric to produce openwork was the precursor of true lace, where openwork is created without any fabric base. Originally published in March 1896 as Vol. 2 No. 1 as part of the "Metropolitan Art Series" by the Butterick Publishing Co., this is still the most complete work on this area of needlework. Although limited primarily to Mexican Drawn work, the techniques and stitches will be common to all styles of drawn work.
