The Art of Crocheting with Relief Crochet edited by Jules & Kaethe Kliot

Crochet has evolved from its unknown beginnings where the creation of simple utilitarian objects was the only objective. From this creation of a solid fabric the most elaborate openwork structures and rich textures was to evolve. The early source material for this book includes The Art of Crocheting: From Rudimentary to Elaborate Work published by The Butterick Publishing Co. in 1901 and Relief Crochet in Silk by A. Olivia Longacre Wertman published in Home Needlework Magazine, April 1900 by The Florence Publishing Company. The Art of Crocheting was claimed to be the most complete and accurate book on crochet and includes the techniques for many little known techniques as well as a variety of contemporary projects. Relief Crochet in Silk covers the little known Bullion or Roll stitch crochet and its many variations.
