A Tatter's Workbook by A. Tatter edited by Jules & Kaethe Kliot

Presented in this volume is a most unusual and fascinating collection of tatting patterns, many original, as recorded in a New England notebook by an anonymous tatter in the 1920's. With an evident commercial purpose, the patterns were accompanied by actual samples of the finished design and detailed by written instructions. The range of designs extends from the simplest edging to elaborate motifs and dimensional work. The appeal should be to the tatter who has some basic knowledge of tatting, either with shuttle or needle, as well as the needlework historian who will find this archive a rich source for this almost vanishing art.
